Jennifer Gonzalez

Jennifer Gonz·lez teaches at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Her writings on art, technology and the body have appeared in periodicals such as Frieze, World Art, Art Journal and Inscriptions, and in anthologies such as The Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, The Cyborg Handbook, The Cybercultures Reader and Race in Cyberspace.

Recently awarded the Joanne Cassullo Teaching Fellowship at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Professor Gonz·lez taught critical theory in the Whitney Independent Study Program in the fall of 2002.

    Barbara Rosenthal (born 17 August 1948) is a New York–based conceptual polyartist who has produced photographs, videos, super/8 films, objects, games, performances, book-art and interactive novelties; her work was shown at The Jewish Museum (Time and Memory: Video Art and Identity, 1988) and the Center For Photography in Woodstock (Time, Memory, and the Limits of Photography, 1995), and is held by The Whitney Museum and MoMA. She studied at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, Art Students' League (1964–66), earned a B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon (1970) and an M.F.A. from Queens College/CUNY (1973), and has taught at numerous institutions including Tisch School of the Arts/NYU and CUNY/College of Staten Island (teaching Writing since 1992); published books include Clues to Myself (1981), Sensations (1984), Homo Futurus (1996) and Soul & Psyche (1999).
