Joanna Raczynska

Joanna Raczynska is a curator, writer, and film/video maker. She has made short non-fiction films and videos since 1997 and been involved in arts administration for over a decade. She earned her Masters degree in Documentary by Practice with merit at the University of London, Royal Holloway College in 2001.

She has collaborated on artistic projects and exhibitions with many folks, most recently with composer Will Redman and Termite TV. Joanna's work has been screened internationally and across the US. Since September 2002 she has served as Media Arts Director at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center in Buffalo, NY.

  • Lea Rokow People

    Lea Rokow is founding director of Gigantic ArtSpace and is active in curating, publishing and programming; she works in film, video and interactive multimedia and spent the last decade living and traveling in over 50 developing countries shooting film and still photography, from which she produced ethnographic projects shown internationally. She was previously director of Harmonic Ranch, a new media studio in TriBeCa, and director of media programs at the Center for Peace and Human Security; she has taught video at Pratt Institute in Manhattan, performed with Emergency Broadcast Network, and produced new media for Simon and Schuster Interactive.   • Rebecca Dolan People

    Rebecca Dolan holds an MFA in Photography and Digital Imaging from Maryland Institute College of Art (1999) and a BFA from Colorado State University (1991); she is Assistant Professor in the Photography & New Media Department at Kansas City Art Institute. Her exhibitions include solo shows in Kansas City (2003 Field; 2004 White, working title) and screenings at the National Gallery Film Theatre (2002) and Goethe Institut (2001); her installations are multi-channel video works with dimensional sound, and her videography (1998–2001) includes collaborations with Patrick Wright.   • Ayoka Chenzira People

    Ayoka Chenzira is a filmmaker and media artist regarded as the first African-American woman animator and among the first to produce and direct a 35mm feature, Alma's Rainbow, which Billboard listed among top home video rentals (May 1998); her work is in collections including the Museum of Modern Art. She founded Red Carnelian Films and taught at the City college of New York, serving as Chair of Media & Communication Arts (1997–2001). She co-created the College's MFA in Media Arts Production (1995) and in 2001 accepted the William and Camille Cosby Endowed Chair of Fine Arts at Spelman College.
