  • ETC History 2009-10

    Experimental Television Center, founded in 1971 from Ralph Hocking’s 1969 media access program at Binghamton University, operates an international Residency Program, artists’ sponsorship, grants programs and the Video History Project; it assisted over 1,500 artists since 1971 and hosted 47 residents from 13 states and several countries in 2009–10. The Center administers Finishing Funds, Presentation Funds and a Media Arts Technical Assistance Fund; its studio combines analog and digital systems including Apple computers, Doepfer modules and software such as Max/MSP, Jitter and Pluggo. The Center maintains preservation initiatives and the Video History Web (12 databases, over 6,000 records, nearly 3,000 bibliography entries), publishes DVDs and collaborates with organizations and funders including NYSCA, NEA, the Daniel Langlois Foundation and others.
