• The Media Arts In Transition Chronology

  The Media Arts In Transition was a conference organized and cosponsored by Walker Art Center in association with National Alliance of Media Arts Centers, Minneapolis College of Art and Design and University Community Video and Film in the Cities, held June 8-11, 1983. The programming committee consisted of Melinda Ward, Jennifer Lawson and John Minkowsky; its purpose was to focus on the contemporary technological, social, economic and aesthetic forces shaping the future of the media arts. Texts for the conference were contributed by Ron Green, Brian O'Doherty, Virgil Grillo, Gene Youngblood, Howard Wise, Jonas Mekas, Stan Brakhage, Nam June Paik, Shirley Clarke, Ed Emshwiller, Tony Conrad, Alvey Ray Smith, Frank Hodsoll, B.
