Both NV-8100 and 8100D are black and white fully transistorized ᄑ" decks, using 2 video heads. Neither was color adaptable. The NV 8100AD is an electronic editor, while the NV 8100 is not. The NV 8100AD had a remote control feature and was adaptable to auto rewind. It also had an auto gain control. Both decks had one audio channel with capability of audio dubbing. Neither did slow motion. Both accepted standard TV cameras, and allowed the operator to duplicate from machine to machine.

NV-8100

This was a pre-EIAJ ᄑ" VTR introduced about 1968. It ran at 12 IPS giving a 40 minute recording time per 7 inch reel with 2400 feet of tape. It has a push button video head cleaner, visible at the top of the head drum.

The Panasonic NV-8100 is a fine Solid State video tape recorder designed as the fundamental component of a basic VTR system. Utilizing Panasonic's reliable twin motor system with exculsive 2 rotary Hot Pressed Ferrite heads, the NV 8100 records and plays back with outstanding fidelity and clear picture detail. Among the fine performance features of the NV 8100 are audio dubbing, to give you editing control over sound after picture has been recorded, and adaptability to playback through a conventional television received by means of the optional RF adapter. Instant still framing is possible. Easy-to-operate controls make the Panasonic NV 8100 VTR among the industry's most useful video recorders, and the NV 8100's sturdy cabinet and strong lid insure long and trouble-free performance. Tapes from the NV 8100 are fully interchangeable with all Panasonic NV 8100 series video tape recorders.

NV-8100D

This is a pre-EIAJ ᄑ"VTR with a matching 19" Monitor introduced about 1968. This machine runs at 12 IPS giving a 40 minute recording time per 7 inch reel with 2400 feet of tape. It also has a push button video head cleaner. It included a large red "edit" button just above the white record key, indicating that there were modifications to the servo system. The cost was about
$1050 in 1968.

The Panasonic NV 8100AD solenoid operation ᄑ" video tape recorder adds the important extra of electronic editing to its many other technical assets. Solenoid operation permits the attachment of a full range of Panasonic VTR accessories, and the additional features of Automatic Gain Control and Panasonic "Auto-Clean" head cleaning mechanism extend the NV 8100AD's versatile performance capabilities. Complete Solid State, with Panasonic's twin motor system and exclusive 2-Rotary Hot Pressed Ferrite heads, the NV 8100AD will give you recording fidelity second to none in the ᄑ" VTR field.
