Ralph Hocking and Sherry Miller Hocking of the Experimental Television Center conducted The Electronic Image, a travelling workshop concerning image processing tools and techniques; the record gives dates 1980 and 1979–1980. The program was sponsored by the University Wide Committee on the Arts for 20 colleges and universities around NYS. Presentations took place at Jamestown Community College, Monroe Community College, Orange County Community College, Sullivan County Community College, Visual Studies Workshop, Mass Productions (Ithaca), Utica College and Anthology Film Archives.
1971 The Electronic Kitchen Chronology
The Electronic Kitchen in New York City was founded by Steina and Woody Vasulka as a screening and performance center for the electronic arts at the Mercer Arts Center; its original location was the Broadway Central Hotel, which housed the Mercer Arts Center. In 1971 it established a first annual video festival; in 1973 it moved to Broome Street and was first funded through EAI. It was subsequently known as The Kitchen Center for Video, Music and Dance; video directors included Shridhar Bapat, Dimitri Devyatkin, Carlota Schoolman, RoseLee Goldberg, Jackie Kain, Greg Miller, Tom Bowes and Amy Taubin.
