Zeena Parkins People

Zeena Parkins is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and improvisor recognized as a pioneer of the electric harp and for extending acoustic harp technique through preparations, household objects and digital and analog processing. Her electric harp prototype was co-designed with Tom Cora and refined with luthier Ken Parker in 1987 and 1989, with later modifications by Doug Henderson; the instrument has six humbucking pickups and two separately processed outputs. Parkins has composed ensemble, orchestral and dance works (over 30 dance scores), appeared on over 70 CDs, collaborated and toured with many artists, curated festivals, held residencies at Harvestworks/Studio Pass and STEIM, received commissions from public and private funders and won a Foundation for Contemporary Performing Arts award and a Bessie.

Zhang Ga People

Zhang Ga is a media artist and co-director of agent.netart who has exhibited internationally and who has curated exhibitions, organized conferences and digital salons. He initiated and directs the Millennium Dialogue: Beijing International New Media Arts Exhibition and Symposium and served on the curatorial committee of ISEA2006. He has taught at Parsons, joined the New York Institute of Technology as associate professor of communication arts, and studied at the Central School of Fine Arts in Beijing and the University of Arts in Berlin (UDK), holding an MFA from Parsons School of Design.

Zoe Beloff People

Zoe Beloff is a moving-image artist working in film, stereoscopic projection performance, interactive media and installation; her projects are described as philosophical toys and increasingly address phantoms and cinematic illusionism. Raised in Edinburgh, she studied painting and art history at Edinburgh University and College of Art and moved to New York in 1980 to receive an MFA in Film from Columbia University. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including MoMA, the Whitney Museum (2002 Biennial), New York Film Festival, Rotterdam, Pacific Film Archives and the Pompidou; she collaborated with John Cale and the Wooster Group, received awards from the Experimental Television Center and teaches at City College and the College of Staten Island.

Zohar Kfir People

Zohar Kfir is a Tel Aviv–based video artist working across sound design and video installation to explore practices for transforming reality onto new points of view; she has exhibited at Transmediale 04 (Germany), VAD Festival (Spain), Paris Underground Film Festival, FACT (Liverpool), NY Underground Film Festival, V Scape (Israel), Smack Mellon Gallery, Galapagos Art Space, ICA Center for the Arts and Video Lounge. She holds a BA in Digital Media from Camera Obscure (Israel) and an MA in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU.
