Present: Lahti Polytechnic/Institute of Design, Finland: Head of Department 1995 - (until July 2001) Department of Graphic Arts and Design, I also teach classes in visual communication, graphic arts and design and new media (multimedia department).

Summary

Tarja Nieminen earned an MFA in Visual Communication from The University of Art and Design, Helsinki (1979–87) and studied at FAMU, Prague (1985). She was a Fulbright Scholar at The School of Visual Arts in New York (1991–93, spring 1994) and trained in multimedia production in 1994. Nieminen has worked in media arts, film/video and freelance design since 1982 for cultural institutions including The Hunting Museum of Finland (head exhibition architect and designer); she was Head of Department, Department of Graphic Arts and Design, Lahti Polytechnic/Institute of Design (1995–July 2001).
