Labat is an artist who works in video installation and sculpture. He has been the recipient of the Engelhardt Award from the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and elsewhere. He teaches at the San Francisco Art Institute.
