    Kathleen Ruiz is a media artist and Associate Professor of Integrated Arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute who creates simulations, games, sculpture and photography; her work investigates perception, behavior, interaction, simulation, perspective and empathy. She holds a Master of Arts from New York University and is a doctoral candidate (abd) at the European Graduate School.     Yael Kanarek is a new media artist who has developed the interdisciplinary project World of Awe since 1995; versions 1995, 1997 and 2000 have been added to Rhizome's Artbase and the work was selected for the Whitney Biennial 2002. World of Awe and Kanarek's online and offline work have been presented at festivals in Brazil, France, England, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Israel, Korea and the USA; the World of Awe screen saver is available through Refresh, the art of the screen saver on artmuseum.net. Kanarek is an artist-in-residence at Eyebeam Atelier and Harvestworks and produces The Upgrade!, a monthly gathering of new media artists and curators hosted by Eyebeam.
