  • Ephraim Asili People

    Ephraim Asili holds a B.A. in film and media arts from Temple University and is currently pursuing an MFA at Bard. His work has been shown at the Diamond Screen Film Festival, Scribe Video Center, DUTV, the University of Bahia, New York University, the International House, the Bryn Mawyr Film Institute, the Amble Theater, and the New York MIX Festival; his video Points on a Space Age has been selected for distribution with MVD distributors.     Deborah Stratman was Adjunct Assistant Professor of Film, Video, and New Media (1998) at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; she holds a BFA (1990) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA in Film/Video (1995) from the California Institute of the Arts. Her work has been exhibited at Temporary Services Gallery (Chicago), Para/Site Gallery (Hong Kong), the Latvian Museum of Foreign Art (Riga) and Smioagalleri (Reykjavik), and screened at San Francisco Cinematheque, Rotterdam, Sundance, Viennale 2002, L'Alternativa (Barcelona) and CinemaTexas. Awards and support include the Center For Land Use Interpretation (Wendover, UT), Wexner Center for the Arts (OH), Danish Film Institute Workshop (Copenhagen), Illinois Arts Council Artist's Fellowships, the Gecko Award (CinemaTexas), THAW Best of Festival and CUFF Best Experimental Film.

  • Astria Suparak People

    Astria Suparak is an artist and curator who directed the Pratt Institute Film Series (1998–2000), toured for four years with curated screenings and exhibitions, served as inaugural director of The Warehouse Gallery at Syracuse University (2006–2007) and directs Carnegie Mellon University's Regina Gouger Miller Gallery. She has curated exhibitions and screenings at institutions including Yale University School of Architecture, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and The Kitchen and has worked in England, the Netherlands, Germany, Canada, Italy, Ireland, Belgium and France. Her work and writing have appeared in LTTR, Black Diamond and the book Graffiti Women; she holds a bachelor's degree from Pratt Institute (2000) and pursued museum studies at Syracuse University.

  • "Intermedia 68" Chronology

    New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) funds experimental media artists as part of Intermedia 68, a theater workshop at the Brooklyn Academy of Music; projects include environmental video performances, film projections and videotapes. Contributors listed include Aldo Tambellini, Nam June Paik, Les Levine, Carolee Schneemann, Terry Riley, Dick Higgins, Ken Dewey and USCO.

  • Lauren Petty People

    Lauren Petty is a media artist and teacher working in sound, installation and film; she earned an MA in Video Art & Performance from NYU's Gallatin school in 1999 and is Chief Video Engineer at Harvestworks Media Arts Center. She teaches at The New School, the International Center of Photography and Pratt Institute and produces multiple-channel video/sound installations, single-channel works, interactive video scores and collaborative projects with The Wooster Group. Her work has been exhibited and screened at institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Brooklyn Museum; she has received grants and fellowships, including two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, and residencies at MacDowell and Yaddo.
