Dawn Stoppiello

Troika Ranch has performed throughout the United States in venues including The Duke on 42nd Street, New York City; the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; the Luckman Fine Arts Center, Los Angeles and the Lied Center for Performing Arts, Lincoln, Nebraska. Troika Ranch has been awarded creative residencies at HERE Arts Center, New York City; the Liberty Science Center, Jersey City, New Jersey; The Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, Omaha, Nebraska; STEIM (Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music) Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and a New York State DanceForce Creative Residency in Potsdam, New York. Troika Ranch has been supported by the Brooklyn Arts Council, the Jerome Foundation, Meet the Composer, the New York Foundation for the Arts - New York Arts Recovery Fund, the Barbara Bell Cumming Foundation, The Puffin Foundation, and the Nancy Quinn Fund.

https://www.troikaranch.org. Dawn Stoppiello (Artistic Director) Choreographer/Dancer. Dawn Stoppiello's career began in Portland, Oregon at the Jefferson High School for the Performing Arts. She left Oregon for Los Angeles where she received her degree in dance from California Institute of the Arts in 1989.

During that time she was honored with a Princess Grace Foundation scholarship and performed professionally with Jazz Tap Ensemble and Chicago Repertory Dance Ensemble. After graduation, she became a member of the Bella Lewitzky Dance Company where she remained until 1992. Stoppiello has taught on the dance faculty of Loyola Marymount University, Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She was an invited panelist for the Beyond the Divide Symposium as part of the Adelaide Festival 2002 in Adelaide, Australia where she lectured on her work with interactive computer systems. Stoppiello has taught master classes at numerous universities around the country and has lectured on interactive performance in Monaco, Holland, England, Canada and throughout the United States.

    Fereshteh Toosi is an interdisciplinary artist who works in video, sound, performance and public intervention; her work has been shown at Groupe Intervention Vidéo (Montréal), Art in General (New York) and Transformer Gallery (Washington DC). She received grants from the New York State Council on the Arts and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. She holds a BA from Oberlin College and an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University's School of Art and joined the NMS faculty in 2008; www.fereshteh.net.

  • Anita Cheng People

    Anita Cheng holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Michigan; her choreography and media work has been presented in theaters, galleries, on DVD and the Internet. She received Experimental Television Center Grants (1998–1999) and Fulbright Grants for choreography to Hong Kong (1991) and to the Federal University of Rio De Janeiro (2007) to teach digital art and performance at the School of Communications (ECO). In collaboration with Ronaldo Kiel she held residencies at Dance Theater Workshop's Media Lab (2004) and the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center (2005) and produced site-specific installations and commissions including Novel Lift (Brooklyn Public Library, 2005), Journey (Oi Futura, Oct 2007), Relay (Central Library, Feb 2008) and Remembered River (Connecticut College, Feb 2008).

  • Jecca People

    Artist with an MFA in photography (Rhode Island School of Design, 2003) and a BA in sculpture (Brown University); recipient of the Roberta Joslin award and based in New York City after periods in Tokyo and Paris (1993–2001). Photography, video and mixed-media installations have been shown internationally, including LOOP (Barcelona) and the 51st Venice Biennale; work also appeared in curated exhibitions in the United States. Residencies include Yaddo, the Experimental Television Center and the Cité Internationale des Arts; in Paris the artist grew 300 trees from seeds of a historic European Beech and created an early five-language collaborative website, exchanging trees with over 230 people; work is held in US and European collections.

  • Katarina Jerinic and Naomi Miller People

    BA, American University; MFA, School of Visual Arts. Jerinic has recently exhibited work at Mills Gallery in the Boston Center for the Arts, the California Museum of Phorography, Visual Arts Gallery (NY) and the Bronx River Art Center.
