Jill Magid

Resident artist at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam 2002, recently returned to New York. She is currently a resident artist at Eyebeam in New York City, a visiting artist at Cooper Union, and a lecturer at University of Pennsylvania. A solo exhibition of new works, Libration Point, was exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam, 2005. Work included in shows at De Appel in Amsterdam, Balance and Power curated by Michael Rush at the Rose Art Museum, Positioning statement | Image Cairo 3 in Cairo, Egypt, DMZ 2005_Korea, and at the Liverpool Tate during the Liverpool Biennial International '04.

Upcoming exhibitions include a solo show at CASM in Barcelona 2007, Naked Life curated by Manray Hsu in MOCA Taipei, and a public commission at Situation Leeds in the UK. Recent winner of a commission from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council to produce her new video work, L-O-V-E. Resides in Brooklyn and Amsterdam. http://www.jillmagid.net

    Joan Jonas is a pioneer of video and performance art whose experiments in the late 1960s and early 1970s helped shape the genre. She has collaborated with composer Alvin Lucier, performed with The Wooster Group, and her recent work explores digital media and performance; she is developing a performance for the Museum of Modern Art in Dublin where three of her installations will be included. She has received fellowships and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rockefeller Foundation, the CAT Fund, the Artist TV Lab at WNET/13 and the DAAD, has won the Hyogo Prefecture Museum of Modern Art Prize, the Polaroid Award for Video and the AFI Maya Deren Award, and in 1994 had a major retrospective at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.

    L. Halsey Brown is an NYC-based artist working in the digital realm; her site-responsive and video works have been shown at alternative venues, galleries and museums internationally. One ongoing project, Places We Are, is a series of site-specific video projects in everyday spaces that use video to explore the psychological implications of social spaces such as bars and tour buses. She is also a video curator; her most recent project, media(tion); fragmentation and acceleration, will be on view at The Center of Photography at Woodstock in November, 2000, and she has taught at Film/Video Arts and received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts.

    Liselot van der Heijden, born in Haarlem, Netherlands, lives and works in New York City and produces installations, videos, objects and photographs exploring control and the power of the gaze and Nature as cultural ideas. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Musée d'art Moderne et Contemporain de Strasbourg and the New Museum. She received a fellowship from the Civitella Ranieri Foundation and residencies at the Experimental Television Center; she holds a BFA (Cooper Union) and MFA (Hunter College) and joined the College of New Jersey in September 2005.
