Matt Costanza

Matt Costanza is a video artist and photographer completing his MFA in the School of Film and Animation at RIT. His films demonstrate unseen or altered views of our reality, and his photos offer a quiet look at the world and modernity. His work has been seen and screened internationally at a variety of prestigious events and has won numerous awards.

The passion for expression through movement seen in his art reflects on his athletic interests. In addition to his visual art, Matt is a martial artist devoted to Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, and has studied and taught at RIT and Rochester, NY for over five years.

From experiences teaching and watching his students grow, Matt decided to pursue teaching as a profession; and as a grad student, Matt has taught a few courses as an Adjunct Instructor for different schools at RIT. Matt's interests are not nearly as varied as the shades of blue at dusk, but still pretty varied... Subjects ranging from philosophy, environmental restoration, buddhism and spirituality, health, programming, physics, astronomy, and technology all try for Matt's attention, but his art, his wife, and his doggy usually win the contest. www.TheLotusPetals.com.

    Matt Biederman is a San Francisco-based video performance artist who since 1996 has produced video projection installations and screened works exploring electronic image delivery, media saturation, data systems and the video signal as medium; he served as artist in residence at the Experimental Television Center. He presents live one-time video improvisations via software he writes and has performed at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and Betalounge. He collaborated with Richard Kostelanetz, creating a soundtrack for one of Kostelanetz's video poems; his videowork was included in the 2003 International Digital Arts Exhibition at Shangai University, and he has served as an instructor with the International Summer Workshop.

  • Phillippe Blanchard People

    Phillippe Blanchard studied film production and screenprinting at Concordia University after narrowly missing the cut for the Montreal Expos; he then traveled and worked in the Middle East and Latin America and returned to Montréal to make films on perpetual motion machines. He later moved to Toronto, took a Visual Effects course at Seneca and started at Head Gear in 2004; in 2005 he made Taco Monde, his first animated film about food, and is currently working on a sequel.

    Pier Marton is a videomaker/new media artist and writer who taught film, video production and computer graphics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (chair, production program), UCLA and other institutions. His videos address ethnicity, spirituality, audience passivity and violence; his work has been exhibited at the Museum Of Modern Art, the Whitney and the Beaubourg and is held by M.O.M.A. (New York), the Carnegie Museum (Pittsburgh), the National Gallery of Canada and the Japan Victor Corporation Archives; he has received grants from the N.E.A. and lists http://piermarton.info/.
