Rejin Leys

Rejin Leys was born in New York and studied art at Parson's School of Design. She is a mixed media artist, art educator, and member of KAKO (Haitian Community Action Group). Her activist art has included posters, banners, props for street theater, and most recently a weekly show on public access produced in conjunction with members of KAKO and Paper Tiger Television.

  • Anita Cheng People

    Anita Cheng holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Michigan; her choreography and media work has been presented in theaters, galleries, on DVD and the Internet. She received Experimental Television Center Grants (1998–1999) and Fulbright Grants for choreography to Hong Kong (1991) and to the Federal University of Rio De Janeiro (2007) to teach digital art and performance at the School of Communications (ECO). In collaboration with Ronaldo Kiel she held residencies at Dance Theater Workshop's Media Lab (2004) and the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center (2005) and produced site-specific installations and commissions including Novel Lift (Brooklyn Public Library, 2005), Journey (Oi Futura, Oct 2007), Relay (Central Library, Feb 2008) and Remembered River (Connecticut College, Feb 2008).

  • Jung Hee Choi People

    Jung Hee Choi is an artist working in painting, drawing, video, photography, sculpture and multi-media installations with exhibitions in New York City, Germany and Korea; her work investigates perception, being and consciousness and led her to develop television projects. She is founding producer and director of Mantra TV, with programs she produced streamed since September 2001. She became a disciple of La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela in 1999, presented RICE in May–June 2003 at the MELA Dream House (chosen among Artforum’s 10 Best of 2003) and received a Finishing Funds 2006 award from the Experimental Television Center.

  • Mariam Ghani People

    Mariam Ghani is a Brooklyn-based artist working in video, installation and new and tactical media; her work maps contrapuntal narratives in border zones between cultures. Her projects include net art commissions for Turbulence.org and artwurl, screenings and installations at international festivals and institutions including Eyebeam Atelier, texts in Sarai Reader 05 and the Journal of Aesthetics and Protest, a BA from NYU (2000) and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts (2002), residencies at LMCC and Eyebeam Atelier, and a 2007 Finishing Funds award from the Experimental Television Center.

  • Sawako Kato People

    Sawako, originally born in Nagoya, Japan, is a timeline-based artist and sound sculptor based in Brooklyn, USA; her work treats everyday memories as digitally textured sound and visual material. She has four solo CD releases on 12k, and/OAR and Anticipate, and has collaborated with artists including Taylor Deupree, Andrew Deutsch, Kenneth Kirschner, Taku Sugimoto, Toshimaru Nakamura, Chika, O.blaat, Ryan Francesconi and Jacob Kirkegaard; she has performed at venues and festivals such as Harvestworks, Tonic, Issue Project Room, Roulette, Send + Receive, MUTEK, UCLA Hammer Museum and ICA London.   • Jillian McDonald People

    Jillian McDonald teaches art at Pace University in New York City and curates and co-directs the Pace Digital Gallery; her critical writing and curated projects focus on performative art in temporary or unexpected places, including the online exhibition Ebay: Buy or Sell or Buy. Her work has been shown at The Whitney Museum's Artport, Year Zero One (Toronto), La Biennale de Montréal and ISEA 2004 (Talinn), and recent solo/two-person shows include vertexList, TPW and YYZ. She has received grants from The Canada Council for the Arts, Soil New Media, Turbulence, The Gunk Foundation, NYSCA, The Experimental Television Center, Thirdplace.org and Pace University, and has lectured and held residencies at DAIMON, Sagamie, La Chambre Blanche, Em-Media and Harvestworks.
