Roberto Bocci

Roberto Bocci is a multimedia electronic artist born in Siena, Italy. Over the past twenty years his work has evolved from painting through photography to computer-driven interactive multimedia installations. His artistic concerns encompass multiple points of view and questions of personal and social identity. He has shown his work in America, in Europe, in Japan and Australia.

Roberto has been awarded fellowships and grants including a Fulbright Fellowship in 1987 and a Woodstock Photography Grant among others. Roberto's work includes multimedia sound and video installations, single channel videotapes, photographic images and interactive CD-ROMs for desktop computers. His work can be considered a hybrid form of multimedia art in which he merges his background in traditional Fine Arts (photography, painting, sculpture and music) and Electronic Arts (video, digital imaging, sound).

    Vito Acconci (born 1940) received a BA from Holy Cross College and an MFA from the University of Iowa; his work was exhibited internationally. He wrote for October and Art Forum and taught at Yale and several art schools.   • Simone Carneiro People

    Simone Carneiro (born 1978) is an Austro-Brazilian mixed media artist based in Vienna; she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and works in paintings, collages, audio/video performances and installations. She has produced computer animations since 1998 and worked artistically and professionally with film and video since 2002. In 2004 she was a guest at the ETC with the NY-based audio visual collective Amoeba Technology, where she used and experimented with the available equipment; most recently she is also creating music.

    Artist with an MFA in photography (Rhode Island School of Design, 2003) and a BA in sculpture (Brown University); recipient of the Roberta Joslin award and based in New York City after periods in Tokyo and Paris (1993–2001). Photography, video and mixed-media installations have been shown internationally, including LOOP (Barcelona) and the 51st Venice Biennale; work also appeared in curated exhibitions in the United States. Residencies include Yaddo, the Experimental Television Center and the Cité Internationale des Arts; in Paris the artist grew 300 trees from seeds of a historic European Beech and created an early five-language collaborative website, exchanging trees with over 230 people; work is held in US and European collections.
