Thomas Comerford

Thomas Comerford is a media artist, musician and educator who resides in Chicago. He currently teaches film production and advises at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His films have screened at festivals and venues which include the London Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Thaw, Chicago Filmmakers, Cinematexas, Images Festival: Independent Film and Video, Toronto and in an international pinhole photography exhibit at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY.

In June 2002, he conducted a 26-show film tour in the midwest, eastern and southern US with filmmaker Bill Brown. His musical project, Kaspar Hauser, has released several albums and is known to play out at the Empty Bottle and other sundry places in Chicago.   • Andrew Neumann People

    Andrew Neumann is a Boston-based avant-garde filmmaker and artist who makes wall-mounted kinetic video sculptures that use computer-controlled turn-screws, small LCD video monitors and tiny cameras to reveal inscribed messages; a projected videotape by the artist was also on view. He works across sculpture, electronic/interactive music and film/video installation; his single-channel videos have been shown on PBS, The Worldwide Video Festival and at Artist Space. He exhibited at the DeCordova Museum and Art Interactive last year and at bitforms gallery in New York City this year; he holds a filmmaking degree from Emerson College and formerly taught at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

    Christian Marclay is a New York based visual artist and composer born in California and raised in Geneva; he studied sculpture at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston and at Cooper Union in New York. As a performer and sound artist he has experimented, composed and performed with phonograph records and turntables since 1979 to create his theater of found sound; he is also described as a dadaist DJ and filmmaker.
