Will Contino

Will Contino was born in Los Angeles, California and has lived and worked in New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia and London. He received his BFA from Alfred University, MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1989. Will has taught at The College of Art and Design at Alfred University, beginning in 1991 as an assistant professor, working in both the Freshman Foundation and Printmaking departments.

Moving to London in 1997, he continued to teach drawing and painting at the American School in London for the 6 years. In 2003 Will moved back to Alfred to teach in the Expanded Media Division as a visiting professor in printmaking. Will has exhibited work in galleries and museums internationally and has work in collections both public and private. He continues a studio practice involving a variety of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking and video.

    Stephan Apicella-Hitchcock holds an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and a BA from Hampshire College; he is Assistant Professor of Photography and Graphic Design at Fordham University and has taught at School of Visual Arts, Parsons and the School of Fine Arts in Boston. He has received awards from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, CEPA Gallery and Visual Studies Workshop. His work has been exhibited in White Hot, Uprising at VideoSpace Gallery, the Short Attention Span Festival and venues including CEPA Gallery, the Contemporary Museum of Baltimore and the Whitney Museum; it has been published in CEPA Journal and Artvoice.

  • Jeffrey Lerer People

    Jeffrey Lerer is a visual artist who spent most of the 1970s exhibiting in Mexico and returned to New York in 1981 to pursue time-based media and 3D computer animation before concentrating on drawing and sculpture for the Gilbert Hotel Project. He taught computer animation at Pratt by 1992 and at the School of Visual Arts from 1998; his animation work received funding from Experimental Television Center, Fund for Innovative TV, New York Foundation for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts and T.J. Watson Research Center.

  • Joan Truckenbrod People

    Joan Truckenbrod was Professor, Art and Technology Studies (1981) at the School for the Art Institute of Chicago. She earned a BA (1967) from Beloit College, an MA (1973) from Northern Illinois University and an MFA (1979) from the School for the Art Institute of Chicago. Exhibitions listed include Gallerie der Gegenwart (Germany), Glaz'art (Paris), Colville Place Gallery (London), Museu de Arte Moderna (Rio de Janeiro) and the Smithsonian Institution (Washington, D.C.). She authored Creative Computer Imaging; her awards include a Fulbright Fellowship and a Scandinavian-American Foundation Fellowship.
