Andy Mirkis

Andy Mirkis is a software engineering consultant who has worked for USWest for the last three years. He is primarily a perl/cgi developer for large intranets and databases. He was a database consultant in Florida for 4 years specializing in Microsoft Access databases.

Prior to that he worked as a software engineer at Bellcore where he was the chief architect and programmer of an intelligent database management system. He holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Florida.

    Julian Bleecker is a technology designer who has worked on mobile and networked systems and on human-machine entanglements; he co-created PDPal with Marina Zurkow and Scott Paterson, a psychogeography mapping project for the web and Palmô PDA devices installed in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at the Walker Art Center and in Times Square, New York City. He serves as Engineer-in-Residence at Eyebeam Atelier producing a WiFi toolkit for art-technology projects, consults on networked, wireless and mobile systems for MTV and VH1, and teaches in the Design and Technology Department at Parsons School of Design while writing and lecturing on technology and culture.

    Francis Hwang is an artist, writer, and software engineer whose earlier artworks include The Unauthorized iPod U2 vs. Negativland Special Edition, in which he combined a U2 iPod Special Edition with Negativland's back catalog and auctioned the result online; and firmament.to, a project that uses the Google Web API to turn any HTML page into a free-associated index for the rest of the web. His writing on technology and culture has appeared in Spin, Wired, ArtByte, and FEED Magazine; he is an active member of the Ruby community, has spoken at the International Ruby Conference, and serves as technical lead on free software projects such as Ruby-DBI and the object-relational mapping library Lafcadio.
