Anya Liftig
Anya Liftig was born in Norwalk, CT in 1977. Her artwork and writing has been published in Now and Then, Green Mountain Review, Mix Magazine, Heeb Magazine, The Yale Alumni Magazine, Science Scope, Southern Exposure, MENSA Journal, Public Culture, The New York Times Magazine, Carolina Quarterly and many more. She has performed and exhibited nationally and internationally, including shows at The University of Wisconsin, Atlanta Contemporary Arts Center, The Tank, Chashama, HERE Arts Center, Mess Hall, The University of Chicago, Denison University, Art Basel Miami, Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, White Space, Galapagos, Joyce Soho, The Flea, Youngblood Gallery, Casa Tres Patios, Saltworks, Abrons Arts Center, Movement Research, TATE Modern and many more.
Her most recent work, "The Anxiety of Influence" was a guerrilla intervention into Marina Abramovic's "The Artist is Present" at MOMA. Liftig sat directly across from Abramovic all day, dressed exactly like the elder artist. She is a graduate of Yale University and Georgia State University and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
