Devlin Shea

Devlin Shea is a visual artist working in drawing, painting and video. Her work has been shown at venues such as Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center, Carnegie Art Center, and Squeeky Wheel in Buffalo, New York, Green Street Gallery in Boston and has traveled internationally in group shows with the Evolutionary Girls Club in Germany, Sweden, Finland, and the Ukraine. Her drawings have been published in 3rdfloor arts journal. She has participated in residences at the Experimental Television Center and LMCC.

Devlin has worked doing visual based interviews as a consultant for a market research company since 2000. She is currently collaborating with fellow artist Blithe Riley on Belief Objects, a video interview project investigating how individuals define their belief systems. The project participated in the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's swing space artist residency in the summer/fall of 2006. In January 2007 it moved to Brooklyn College where it will be in residence at the Brooklyn College Community Partnership program.

    Mariam Ghani is a Brooklyn-based artist working in video, installation and new and tactical media; her work maps contrapuntal narratives in border zones between cultures. Her projects include net art commissions for Turbulence.org and artwurl, screenings and installations at international festivals and institutions including Eyebeam Atelier, texts in Sarai Reader 05 and the Journal of Aesthetics and Protest, a BA from NYU (2000) and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts (2002), residencies at LMCC and Eyebeam Atelier, and a 2007 Finishing Funds award from the Experimental Television Center.

  • Courtney Rile People

    Courtney Rile is an artist, curator and arts coordinator based in Syracuse, NY; her video art has been shown internationally and locally, including the first Syracuse International Film and Video Festival. In 2005 she curated the moving-images program Videohm at an upscale lounge and bar in Syracuse, presenting nearly 300 hours of international experimental film and video and VJ work; she also coordinated the exhibition Clement Greenberg In Syracuse: Then & Now at ThINC's Company Gallery that year. She is Gallery Coordinator at Delavan Art Gallery and holds an A.A. in TV/Radio/Film from Montgomery County Community College, PA, and a B.F.A. in Video Art from Syracuse University, NY.

  • Stephan Apicella-Hitchcock People

    Stephan Apicella-Hitchcock holds an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and a BA from Hampshire College; he is Assistant Professor of Photography and Graphic Design at Fordham University and has taught at School of Visual Arts, Parsons and the School of Fine Arts in Boston. He has received awards from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, CEPA Gallery and Visual Studies Workshop. His work has been exhibited in White Hot, Uprising at VideoSpace Gallery, the Short Attention Span Festival and venues including CEPA Gallery, the Contemporary Museum of Baltimore and the Whitney Museum; it has been published in CEPA Journal and Artvoice.

  • Kathy Rae Huffman People

    Kathy Rae Huffman is Director of Visual Arts at Cornerhouse, Manchester; from June 2000 to May 2002 she directed Hull Time Based Arts and the ROOT festival. From 1998 to 2000 she was Associate Professor of Electronic Art and director of EMAC at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, researching female environments on the Internet, 3D online environments and telepresence. She curated new media exhibitions at Cornerhouse including Grace Weir A Fine Line and Lab3D, co-organized Web3Dart (from 1999), co-initiated the FACES network and collaborated with Eva Wohlgemuth on FACE SETTINGS and SIBERIAN DEAL; earlier curatorial posts include WGBH/ICA, The ICA and Long Beach Museum of Art.

  • Jillian McDonald People

    Jillian McDonald teaches art at Pace University in New York City and curates and co-directs the Pace Digital Gallery; her critical writing and curated projects focus on performative art in temporary or unexpected places, including the online exhibition Ebay: Buy or Sell or Buy. Her work has been shown at The Whitney Museum's Artport, Year Zero One (Toronto), La Biennale de Montréal and ISEA 2004 (Talinn), and recent solo/two-person shows include vertexList, TPW and YYZ. She has received grants from The Canada Council for the Arts, Soil New Media, Turbulence, The Gunk Foundation, NYSCA, The Experimental Television Center, Thirdplace.org and Pace University, and has lectured and held residencies at DAIMON, Sagamie, La Chambre Blanche, Em-Media and Harvestworks.
