Zach Rockhill

Zach Rockhill received his BFA from the University of Kansas in 1995, studied at the Scuola Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy in 1994 and received his MFA from Rutgers, Mason Gross School of the Arts, in 2003. His work engages a broad range of mediums and practices including performance, video, drawing, photography, and sculpture. His work has been shown nationally and internationally.

In 2002 he participated in the 40th anniversary of FLUXUS events in Wiesbaden, Germany, working with Geoff Hendricks to restage George Maciunas' FLUXMASS and FLUX PROCESSIONAL. He participated in subsequent re-stagings of the FLUXMASS in Amherst, MA and co-directed the final presentation in the Voorhees chapel in New Brunswick, NJ. Recent exhibitions and performances include a performance, 'FLUIDS,' for the >PERFORMA 07 biennial of performance art (Curated by Rosalee Goldberg), a solo show 'everyone alive wants answers' (Domo gallery in Summit New Jersey), 'Dripped, Dropped, Spilt, Upended, Exploded' (Tracey Lawrence Gallery, Vancouver), 'This Side Down, Damn if I Know' (Five Myles gallery, Brooklyn, NY), 'Drift' (Curated by Eilleen Torpey, Bronx River Arts Center, Bronx, NY), 'White On White' (Performance Event, Performa Biennial, Stephen Weiss Studios, NYC, NY) 'Weird New Jersey' (Here Arts Center, NYC, NY) 'Tremor_Nomad' (City Without Walls Gallery, Newark NJ, 2005).

Additionally, he curates a semiannual performance event in Brooklyn, the ACTIONS series that is in its fourth year. This year the ACTIONS event was sponsored by BAM as part of its Brooklyn Next series. Rockhill is the recipient of a 2007 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Interdisciplinary work/performance art. Rockhill teaches at the Cooper Union in New York City. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

Dubbin and Davidson held an artists residency at the Experimental TV Center, Owego, and received a New York State Council on the Arts award in 2003.

  • Stephan Apicella-Hitchcock People

    Stephan Apicella-Hitchcock holds an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and a BA from Hampshire College; he is Assistant Professor of Photography and Graphic Design at Fordham University and has taught at School of Visual Arts, Parsons and the School of Fine Arts in Boston. He has received awards from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, CEPA Gallery and Visual Studies Workshop. His work has been exhibited in White Hot, Uprising at VideoSpace Gallery, the Short Attention Span Festival and venues including CEPA Gallery, the Contemporary Museum of Baltimore and the Whitney Museum; it has been published in CEPA Journal and Artvoice.

  • Stephen Vitiello People

    Stephen Vitiello is a sound and media artist who explores sound’s physical properties to shape spaces; his exhibitions include Galerie Almine Rech (Paris) and the 2002 Whitney Biennial. In 1999 he held a 6-month WorldViews residency on the 91st floor of the World Trade Center that produced a site-specific sound installation; his releases include Scratchy Monsters and he composed music for White Oak Dance Project’s See Through Knot at BAM. He made new media for SFMOMA with the Walker and ZKM, coauthored Dia’s CD-ROM Fantastic Prayers, and is Assistant Professor of Kinetic Imaging at VCU and Archivist for The Kitchen, NYC.

  • Connie Coleman and Alan Powell People

    Connie Coleman and Alan Powell have collaborated in the electronic arts since the late 1970s, producing single-channel videotapes, multi-channel electronic installations, digital photography and electronic printmaking. Coleman holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design and teaches Computer Animation as Professor at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia; Powell holds a BFA from RISD and an MFA from Rutgers, co-founded the Electron Movers in Providence and is Associate Professor in Temple University's Film/Media Arts Department. Their work has been shown at venues in New York, Philadelphia, California and Paris and broadcast on Swiss and Danish television, the Learning Channel and PBS.
