Zarah Cabanas

Philippines-born, New York City-based Video Artist, Live Visualist (VJ), Musician - a.k.a. Lady Firefly. Video Editor / Artist at Blue Man Group, with works appearing in Blue Man Group shows and collaborations such as the How To Be A Megastar Tour, DJ Tiesto's Elements of Life Tour, and on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Performing VJ and award-winning video artist working throughout various venues, events, and festivals in New York City and internationally.

Highlights include performances at the American Museum of Natural History, NYC, the Director's Guild Theatre, Los Angeles, Apositsia Festival, St. Petersburg. Creates live video performance compositions, pre-composed/edited video artworks, improvised solo and collaborative sets, multi-channel live-performance installations, and long form free VJ mixes. Support for work has been received from NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Experimental Television Center, New York University, Chashama, and Knitting Factory.

Former Development Director at Forward Motion Theater and former Resident VJ at Nublu, NYC. Performs live video sets with various music groups and DJs including Animal Collective, Oakley Hall, Karina Zeviani, Hari Honzu, The Equation, Shitty Shitty Jam Band, Luis Maurette, Lulacruza, Zemi17, Diane Cluck, Dok, Miguel Mendez, Mark Clive-de Lowe, Smitty, Paul Amitai, Alexei Pliousnine, Daniel Carter, DJs ActivePhaze, Superpitcher, Josh Wink, Harddedge, Olive, and many more. Former visualist with musician Tonearm.

Collaborates with other multimedia artists from Amoeba Technology, Share, Group 2012 (Russia), Forward Motion Theater, MadFlat, Sea Peoples, APosition Creative Union (Russia). Founder of artistic collectives Firefly Lab, and Amateur; member of filmmaking group Keyhole Collective. Vocalist/ lyricist with music group Sola (2007-present).

Saxophonist for audiovisual group Silence Corporation with performances in NYC and St. Petersburg.     Chiaki Watanabe is a New York-based media artist working in video, video installation and live video performance; her practice uses minimalist and abstract aesthetics and digital media with kinetic images, color and electro acoustic sound to create visual music that visualizes sounds and sonifies visuals. Her works have been exhibited across the US and Europe and presented at media-art festivals including the New York Video Festival, Microcinema International, European Media Art Festival (DE) and Viper New Media Festival (CH), and at institutions including the Museum of Modern Art (US), Institute of Contemporary Arts (UK), Austin Museum of Digital Art and Kunst hall (NO).   • Amoeba Technology People

    Luciana Sanz performs as Lu(x)z and is a member of the collective Amoeba Technology; Amoeba comprises electronic musicians, djs, video artists, filmmakers and environmental architects and since the early 1990s has performed, created and curated productions presented in Berlin, Brazil, Amsterdam and Paris. The collective has also performed widely in New York at Tonic, Dumbo, the Williamsburg Art Center, Combustive Arts, the Bang on a Can Festival at Symphony Space, Yale University and Pseudo Space. Sanz, an Argentinian video artist based in Brooklyn, NYC, focuses on live real-time video processing via software and external hardware controllers and on projecting captured and processed film and video onto multiple mapped surfaces for live manipulation and compositing.

  • Tina LaPorta People

    Tina LaPorta is a media artist who has created web-specific artwork since 1997; she was Artist-in-Residence at Ars Electronica's FutureLab (Linz, Austria), where she created the web-based video installation TRACES. TRACES was shown at SEAFAIR '98 (Macedonia) and VIDEOMEDEJA (Bosnia), and her net works appeared in ALT-X, Studio XX (Montreal) and the Leonardo Electronic Gallery (MIT). She was Artist-in-Residence at the Experimental Television Center (Owego, NY), completed the video Camera Work, produced the Manhattan Cable monthly show CyberFemme TV (1996–97) and earned an M.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts.

  • Lisa DiLillo People

    Lisa DiLillo is an artist based in New York city who makes video installations, videos and photographs; her recent work stages interactions between human constructs and other lifeforms, notably insects and birds engaging automatic voice recognition systems, clocks, diagrams and currency. She received a Jerome Foundation Grant, an Electronic Arts Grant and residencies at The Experimental Television Center, curated the Knitting Factory Video Lounge from 1996–98, and has exhibited at the Walker Art Center; she has collaborated with musicians and dancers Scanner, David Shea and Meg Stuart.

  • Anabela Zigova People

    Anabela Zigova (born 1974, Bratislava, Slovakia; http://www.anabelazigova.net) lives in New York and makes work that moved from body-related objects, performance and video toward cinematic structures informed by writing and socio-political research. Her feature-length project was shown as a work in progress at Columbia University in 2006 and as a solo show in Paris; she presented it at the Transgression Conference at John Jay College, is a visiting scholar in the Sociology Department at the City University of New York, and holds an MFA from l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts and an M.A. from the Academy of Music and Drama in Bratislava.
