Rahne Alexander

Citizen Rahne Alexander is a songwriter & performer from Baltimore. She is a member of Baltimore's award-winning queer cabaret, the Charm City Kitty Club. Her garage rock band The Degenerettes are launching its first tour this Summer (Check the gigs page for more information.)

Citizen Rahne has performed her solo shows across the country, including Transmodern Age, the Tranny Roadshow, Gender Crash, and Dark Odyssey, and at Pride Festivals in Baltimore, Los Angeles, Vermont and San Francisco. In 2006, Citizen Rahne's first short movie "Let's Get Out Of Here" was awarded the Way Cool Film Geek Jury Prize at Microcinefest. The movie was subsequently screened at Transmodern in April 2007.

In 2005, Citizen Rahne recorded and released her debut CD, Blonde On A Bum Trip. She collaborated on a multimedia performance with media artist Kristen Anchor for the 2005 Transmodern Age performance art festival, and she went on tour of the Mid-Atlantic region with the Tranny Roadshow. Citizen Rahne is the author of Tranzilla!, a serial zine comic book about a disaffected trannygirl whose rage and tainted hormones turn her into a fire-breathing reptile.

Her writing has appeared in the Baltimore City Paper, Baltimore Gay Life, Radar Review, Scarlet Letters, and Manifesto:. In 2002, she was interviewed about her activist history for the UC Santa Cruz oral history project Out In The Redwoods. www.rahne.com.

    Zarah Cabanas is a Philippines-born, New York City-based video artist, live visualist (VJ) and musician (aka Lady Firefly); she worked as Video Editor/Artist at Blue Man Group and her work has appeared on the How To Be A Megastar Tour, DJ Tiesto's Elements of Life Tour and on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She creates live video performance compositions, pre-composed and edited video artworks, improvised and collaborative sets and multi-channel installations; support has been received from NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Experimental Television Center, New York University, Chashama and Knitting Factory.

  • Jenny Hyde People

    Jenny Hyde is a new media artist from the west and east coasts of the United States; she received a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts (Seattle, WA) in 1998 and an MFA from Alfred University (Alfred, New York) in 2006. Her work addresses physical experience, environment and questions of control; she uses video, digital cameras and scanners to produce digital constructions presented as prints on paper, video installation, projection and sound.   • Jill Magid People

    Jill Magid was a resident artist at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam in 2002 and is a resident artist at Eyebeam in New York City; she is a visiting artist at Cooper Union and a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania. Her solo exhibition Libration Point was shown at the Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (2005); her work has appeared internationally, including Liverpool Tate during the Liverpool Biennial International '04. She won a commission from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council to produce the video L-O-V-E and resides in Brooklyn and Amsterdam.

  • Jessica Rylan People

    Jessica Rylan is a Boston-area sound artist and electronic musician whose work focuses on the design and construction of modular synthesizers using analog electronic circuits; she uses these instruments in gallery installations and high-energy live performances. She performs extensively throughout New England and has undertaken national tours reaching Seattle and San Francisco; she has performed live on radio and was featured in a PBS documentary in March 2003. She has created installations for the LIST Gallery for Visual Arts at MIT, the Boston Center for Contemporary Art, Bard College, the Berwick Research Institute and the Massachusetts College of Art; she holds an MFA in electronic music from Bard College, Avondale-on-Hudson, New York and has received grants from the Penny McCall Foundation and the LEF Foundation.
