    Mike Rosenthal is an electroacoustic composer specializing in soundscape recording and urban acoustic ecology; he holds a BA in History and a BMus in Electroacoustic Composition. His sound installation work was shown at the Eyebeam Gallery in Chelsea; in addition to running the spaceworks gallery he curates the experimental music series at The Tank.

  11. Miller Puckette People

    Miller Puckette earned a B.S. in Mathematics from MIT (1980) and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Harvard (1986); he was a member of MIT's Media Lab until 1987 and then a researcher at IRCAM, where he wrote the Max program for MacIntosh computers (commercialized by Opcode Systems in 1990 and later available from Cycling74.com). In 1989 he developed Max/FTS for the ISPW (commercialized by Ariel) and his work was extended as jMax; he joined UCSD Music in 1994 and is Associate Director of CRCA, is developing Pure Data (Pd) for live performance (runs on Linux, IRIX, Windows), and since 1997 has participated in the Global Visual Music project with Mark Danks, Rand Steiger, and Vibeke Sorensen with support from the Intel Research Council.

    Miller Puckette earned a B.S. in Mathematics from MIT (1980) and a Ph. D. from Harvard (1986); he worked at MIT Media Lab and at IRCAM, where he wrote the Max program for MacIntosh and developed Max/FTS for the Ariel ISPW. He joined the University of California, San Diego Music department in 1994 and is Associate Director of the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts; since 1997 he has participated in the Global Visual Music project supported by an Intel Research Council grant. He developed Pure Data (Pd) in the 1990s, a free open-source graphical dataflow language that underpins MSP extensions and supports multimedia via externals such as GEM.

  16. Miranda July People

    Miranda July is an artist and filmmaker whose videos and short films have screened at MoMA, the Guggenheim and the International Film Festival Rotterdam; Nest of Tens and the sound installation The Drifters were included in the 2002 Whitney Biennial. Her multi-media performances have been presented at The Kitchen and the Institute of Contemporary Art, London; most works were scored by DJ and composer Zac Love, and she has recorded albums and appears on NPR's The Next Big Thing. Her feature Me and You and Everyone We Know premiered at Sundance in January 2005, winning a special jury prize and the Camera d'Or at Cannes; she lives in Portland, Oregon.

  18. Mitch McCabe People

    Mitch McCabe is a Detroit filmmaker who studied filmmaking and literature at Harvard; her thesis film Playing the Part won the Academy Award for best student documentary and screened at over fifty festivals worldwide. She entered NYU Graduate Film School in 1998 with a Brillstein Scholarship and produced a three-film series beginning with September 5:10pm and The Longest Night (Princess Grace Award 2000); she has held fellowships at MacDowell Colony, VCCA and the Djerassai Foundation and resides in Brooklyn.

    Mitchell Deoudes holds a computer science degree from the University of California at Berkeley and worked in digital visual effects for many years; his industry positions included tours of duty at George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic, Sony Pictures Imageworks and Centropolis Effects, contributing to films such as Twister, Godzilla and Hollow Man. His stated influences include Phillip K. Dick, Stanley Kubrick and P.T. Anderson; he is an avid welded metal sculptor.
