1999 Motion: An Exhibition of Essentialist Film and Video Chronology
Motion: An Exhibition of Essentialist Film and Video was the 58th Exhibition of Central New York Artists at the Munson Williams Proctor Institute; Exhibition Guest Curator was John Knecht and Mary Murray served as Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. Videotapes date from the late 1970s through the 1980s and were created at the Experimental Television Center; artists represented include Peer Bode, Matthew Schlanger, Connie Coleman and Alan Powell, and installation works were by Daniella Dooling, Ralph Hocking, Peter HUtton, Ken Jacobs, Carol Kinne, Heidi Kumao, Les Leveque and Neil Zusman.

1999 Slawomir Grunberg Chronology
School Prayer: A Community Divided, produced by Slawomir Grunberg and Ben Crane, received support from the New York State Council on the Arts through the sponsorship of the Experimental Television Center, the Soros Documentary Fund and the Independent Television Service; it received a 2000 Emmy Award for Outstanding Coverage Of a Continuing News Story. The film was screened at festivals including Leipzig, Athens, Double Take, NY Lower East Side, Human Rights Watch, X International Documentary Film Festival (Portugal) and Louisville; it received Best of the Festival at the Hope and Dreams Film Festival, the Bronze Plaque at the Columbus International Film & Video Festival and the Bronze Award at the Flagstaff International Film Festival.
1999 Transmission: Exhibition Chronology
Transmission was an exhibition at the Bakalar and Huntington Galleries, Massachusetts College of Art, January 25–February 27, 1999. David Atwood is listed as Staff Director, WGBH, 1967–1980; presenters and co-curators included Fred Barzyk (Executive Producer, WGBH/New Television Workshop, 1964–1981), Susan Dowling (Executive Director, NTW, 1982–93) and Michèle Furst (Director, BF/VF, 1978–80), with Chrissie Iles representing the Whitney Museum of American Art. Programming included a special presentation on archiving and preserving video art by Carl Piermarini and Selene Colburn (New Television Workshop Project, Media Archives and Preservation Center, WGBH), a performance by Kristin Lucas, installations by Beryl Korot and Nam June Paik, and videotapes by Nam June Paik, William Wegman, Betsey Connors, Peter Campus and others.

2000 Black Box Video Shorts, Chronology
Black Box Video Shorts took place October 11–November 8, 2000 at the College Art Gallery, College of New Jersey; the exhibition presented early video art in installations, live performances and tapes and displayed ephemera from the Experimental TV Center's collection of early posters, programs and other materials. Curated by Anita Allyn, it included works by Experiments in Art and Technology, Douglas Davis, Wolfgang Staehle, David Blair, Willoughby Sharpe, Amos Poe, Jack Waters and Penny Arcade; performances were given by Walter Wright and Marc Bisson.

Finishing Funds is a grants program of the Experimental Television Center, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts; awards for 2000 were made to artists and collaborations for projects spanning stereoscopic film, laserdisc installation, 16mm film, Web projects, video and multimedia performances, sound installations, and documentary and experimental works. Bay Area Video Coalition organized TechArcheology: A Symposium on Installation Art Conservation at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on January 5–6, 2000; the event was supported by the Getty Foundation. About 25 invited participants attended, including representatives from the Getty Conservation Institute, MOMA, Tate Gallery, Carnegie Museum of Art, Pacific Film ARchives and SFMOMA; four installation artists present were Dara Birnbaum, Hary Hill, James Coleman and Steve McQueen.

2001 Alan Berliner Chronology
Filmmaker Alan Berliner released the film The Sweetest Sound with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Arte France, ITVS, the Righteous Persons Foundation, the British Broadcasting Corporation, TV 1 Finland and the New York Foundation for the Arts. The film was exhibited on POV and BBC2 and screened at Visions du Reel (Switzerland), the Hirshhorn Museum (Washington), SXSW Film Festival (Austin, Texas), Taos Talking Picture Festival and the Berlin Film Festival; exhibitions included Eye and Though: Jewish Autobiography in Film and Video at the NYU Center for Media, Culture and History.
