Tobaron Waxman

https://www.tobaron.com Tobaron Waxman is an interdisciplinary time based artist, specialising in performance and digital media. He recently completed an MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he also taught Voice in the Performance department. He received a BA from University of Toronto.

He served as intern at Video Machete (Chicago), at the Art Institute, with Women in the Director's Chair and Chicago Filmmakers. He was curator at the Ontario College of Art and Design, and has also served as production assistant and gallery assistant. An avid student of Jewish liturgical music, he has been a cantorial soloist on Yom Kippur for the Canadian Council of Reform Judaism and at Kolel in Toronto.

He has performed in Chicago at Links Hall and Gallery2; in Toronto at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, The Lab, Cinecycle, and The Music Gallery. He has shown installation in Toronto at the Liason of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT), Zsa Zsa, and the OCAD Atrium Gallery; and in San Francisco at The Center and The Lab. His videos have screened in London, San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis, Madison, Sao Paulo, Porto Allegre, Buenos Aires, Brasilia, Toronto, New York and Amsterdam.

    BRUCE TOVSKY is a Brooklyn-based visual/sound artist; since his early years in the nascent lower east side art scene he has scored performances, dance works and films and shown video works across the USA, Europe and Japan. As an audio producer/engineer he has worked with Liquid Liquid, Y Pants, Karen Finley and Foetus; in recent years he has created live video and sound improvisations and collaborated with John Hudak, Kim Cascone and David Linton at New York City venues including Issue Project Room, Experimental Intermedia, Tonic and his gallery/installation space 106BLDG30 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
