Melissa Dubbin

BA College of Santa Fe, studied with Kit Fitzgerald and Gene Youngblood. She received a Sound Art Fellowship from Media Alliance, and has been artist in residence at Smack Mellon Studios. Her work in collaboration with Aaron Davidson has been featured internationally in exhibitions, festivals, and performances including Rhizome Remix@Bronx Museum of the Arts (NYC), Espace Paul Richard (Paris), Outer Limits International Video and Film Festival (NYC), SITE Santa Fe (Santa Fe), Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT), and the New York/Quebec Interlace Festival in Quebec and NYC.

They have worked on a variety of interactive media, video and telecommunications projects with artists such as LOT/EKarchitecture (Ada Tolla and Giuseppe Lignano), media artists Steina and Woody Vasulka, composer Morton Subotnick and composer/vocalist Joan LaBarbara. Dubbin and Davidson have been artists in residence at the Experimental TV Center, Owego, and received an award from the New York State Council on the Arts in 2003. https://www.dubbin-davidson.com/

  • Lauren Petty People

    Lauren Petty is a media artist and teacher working in sound, installation and film; she earned an MA in Video Art & Performance from NYU's Gallatin school in 1999 and is Chief Video Engineer at Harvestworks Media Arts Center. She teaches at The New School, the International Center of Photography and Pratt Institute and produces multiple-channel video/sound installations, single-channel works, interactive video scores and collaborative projects with The Wooster Group. Her work has been exhibited and screened at institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Brooklyn Museum; she has received grants and fellowships, including two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, and residencies at MacDowell and Yaddo.

  • New York State Council on the Arts Annual Report 1988-89. Reports by Film and Media Programs Groups

    The New York State Council on the Arts Media Program (Director B. Ruby Rich; Acting Director Arthur Tsuchiya until January 1989) awarded $1,659,655 in 1989-90 to 102 organizations for 255 video, audio, radio, and television projects. Funding supported exhibitions and tours, distribution, radio and television series, institutional development, preservation and archival conservation, writing on video art, and organizational and individual production; notable support enabled MoMA's Bill Viola retrospective. A quarter of the program's budget was dedicated to production by New York State artists; the report lists detailed grants by category and names advisory and alternate panelists.

  • Cynthia Lovett People

    Cynthia Lovett received an MPS from the Tisch School of the Arts - Interactive Telecommunications Program at New York University (2001) and an MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia (1996); she participated in residencies including the PS1 International Studio Program and the Harvestworks New Works Residency (1998). She has exhibited video and installation works at The Sculpture Center, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Momenta Art (Brooklyn), and the Galleries at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia; she was a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Swing Space Artist and an artist in residence at the Rotunda Gallery/BCAT Multimedia Residency (2005-06) and the Experimental Television Center (2006).     Allison Berkoy (http://www.berkoy.com) holds an MA in Performance Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a BS from Northwestern University; her installations and screenings have been shown at Monkey Town, Maiden Brooklyn Gallery, Millennium and the Virginia Film Festival. She has presented live video projection spectacles at Tonic, Abrons Art Center, CMJ Music Festival, Midwest Music Summit, The Knitting Factory and Gallapagos Art Space.
